- Frozen shoulder can be a protracted condition which can restrict movement and cause pain and stiffness over months or even years.
- Some people experience a condition known as tendonitis which is inflammation of the tendons.
- Bursitis is also a common condition affecting the shoulder. This is described as swelling and inflammation of the bursa. The bursa forms under the skin and is a sac filled with fluid often formed over the joints which acts as a cushion between the tendons and bones.
- A recurring source of pain may also be associated with arthritis.
SYMPTOMS
- The shoulder is a joint which has the most mobility in the body. Shoulder pain can really impact reaching and shooting in sports like netball and basketball for example.
